THE SURVIVOR AND THE COWARD
Many christians boast, "I'm a survivor"
meaning they will do whatever it takes to stay alive. I recommend you do not
count on this person in a life or death situation, because if there is a choice
of you or them, they have already warned you, they're the survivor. As time
approaches the end, there will be a great separating, as hearts become hard and
cold. All My kingdom people will need to "exhort one another daily, in order to
keep from being hardened through the deceitfulness of sin." Hebrews 3:13 (KJV)
You will see the day when the survivor will "deliver up his brother to
death, and the survivor father his child; and survivor children will take the
stand against their parents and will have them put to death, (because survivors
are cowards). [22] And you believers, will be hated by the survivors for My
name's sake, but he who perseveres and endures to the end of his life, will be
saved from spiritual disease and death in the world to come." Matthew 10:21
(AMP)
The one who perseveres and endures is nothing like the one who
survives, because the survivor simply tries to stay alive no matter who else has
to die to make it happen. The persevering person stays true to his God into
death, only to come up on the other side, eternally alive. Persevering is
enduring, great hardships and self denial to seek My kingdom first even if it
means physical death.
Persevering is a holy stubbornness based in My will
for your life. The survivor has an unholy stubbornness that is founded in his
own will for his life. As soon as I said, "not My will, but thine be done" My
mind was made up to ... "endure the cross, and despise the shame, for your sake
and then set down at the right hand of the throne of My Father." Hebrews 12:2
(KJV) Biblically speaking, Persevering is always for someone else's sake.
Surviving is for your own sake. Every soldier that died for his country
persevered, but every deserter made a decision to survive.
Ok what about
you today, are you a surviving coward or a persevering kingdom seeker? This is
how you can know, before you are faced with the choice? Are you surviving now by
still doing your own thing, and is your life filled with things that you cannot
lay at My feet in the end? Count the things you do today for yourself and
compare them with the things you do for others. Sorry, but family members do not
count "For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even
the tax collectors do that? [47] And if you greet only your brethren, what more
than others are you doing? Do not even (the heathen) do that? Matthew 5:46-47
(AMP) Only count the people that cannot pay you back in any way or those that
don't even like you. Now keep track for one week. Now do the math, Is the
majority of your time spent doing things that are for your comfort or for, the
poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind? Luke 14:14 (AMP)
Let's make
it simple "When you go out to a restaurant, do you invite your friends or your
brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, ... [13] or do you invite
the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind. [14] If you invite the latter,
you will be blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied), because they have no
way of repaying you, and you will be recompensed at the resurrection of the just
(upright)". Luke 14:13,14 (AMP)
These are indicators of wether you are
one who saves his life or looses it. If it's all about you, having a good time
and enjoying yourself, you are more of a survivor, caring more for your comfort
than those the world calls the least of these, but here in the kingdom "inasmuch
as you did it unto one of the least of those, you did it unto me." Matthew 25:40
(KJV)
Now let's be honest, if you are not in a life and death situation,
and you are putting yourself first now, don't even try to convince Me, that if
it's a case of getting shot in the head or turning your neighbor in, that you
would take a bullet first. If you are trading the kingdom for your pleasure
today, you will definitely trade it for your life tomorrow.
Listen
friend, you have a short time to repent and rearrange your life, but you must
come to grips with the fact that "if anyone desires to be My disciple, he must
deny himself, disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests
and take up his cross and follow Me, cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to
My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also." Matthew 16:24
